LA GRANDE NUMERISATION
Y a-t-il une pensée après le papier ? *

Between Google and copyright, are we seeing books caught, pillaged and even pushed to disappear?

The Great Digitization (numerisation) of the Library is an obvious blessing for the transmission of knowledge but on the other hand it comes with a rat race of greed, nationalism and tough legal advice, while librarians grit their teeth and intellectuals look somewhere else.

Between false prophets and real profiteers, are we seeing Literature threatened by too many scaring questions: will I be able to read on a screen, is this the end of the paper book, of free public reading? Will non-profit activities and generosity be forbidden by law?

Or on the contrary does the world dematerialization happen at the right moment to revive writing, offer a chance to escape the old and ossified ways of publishing, towards a new freedom of teaching, telling, dreaming…
